Asterisk Gathering in Atlanta - Details
As previously mentioned, plans are being made for an itDiscuss/CITRT gathering in April to learn (and see) more about Asterisk. There's still some fine tuning to be done, but the plans are coming together as follows:
Friday, April 25, at 2:00, we'll gather at First Baptist to hear from (at least) Justin Moore and Jeffrey Thompson, and to look at real components they have in place. As somewhat of an extra bonus, we'll be able to "borrow" ideas from Andrew Mitry's MinistryTECH presentation. Jeffrey needs a head-count of who will be attending, so shoot him an email: jthompsonic [at] gmail [dot] com.
At about 5:15, we'll wrap up at First Baptist and head over to Paetec to get a hands-on look at a Telco hosting facility. Paetec has agreed to provide us with "heavy" hors d'oeuvres. (Glad this is after the Biggest Loser contest is over!) After the Paetec tour/visit, we can head out to dinner at a local restaurant (on your own $$).
But wait, that's not all! On Saturday, April 26, the Atlanta Asterisk User Group is sponsoring an "install fest" at Georgia Tech. Details here (be sure to register).
For those of you from "near" Atlanta, what a great opportunity to come visit for a couple of days. Let ME know if you are coming into town Friday morning -- I'd love to show you around Perimeter Church. TonyD [at] perimeter [dot] org. (or Jeffrey would probably let you visit him, too :-)
