CITRT Invite Text
After asking about how you invite people to "join" CITRT, Jason Lee came through with some great text and offered it to anyone interested. Adapt to suit your local plans.
Dear {},
I am the Information Technology Director at {name of your church}. I have been working with several other IT Staff at churches across the country to build a national network of Church Information Technology professionals. It has been my experience that these connections have provided me with learning opportunities, advice in daily operations, and general ministry support. Through these connections, I have realized there may be a strong need for those serving our local churches to become connected to one another locally in addition to the connections of the national group.
I am looking to connect with those Information Technology staff and/or volunteer(s) who serve your church and other {wherever you're located} churches. The group of people we are looking to connect with would include individuals who serve by supporting computer hardware, networking, server support, web services/sites, telecom services, etc.
Over the past few years we have found the best way to connect with our IT peers are at RoundTable events. These RoundTables have developed into gatherings that are peer-learning events where the participants are both teachers and learners. These events have been: small enough to emphasize interactive learning, led by a facilitator and peer, include participants who have an affinity with each other, and do not include a strong agenda beyond sharing knowledge.
I am trying to discover what interest exists in the {wherever you're located} churches for this type of local event and connectedness. If this is in your area of oversight, I would be interested in talking with you to further discuss these possible connections between {other church}, {your church}, and other area churches. If this isn’t your area of oversight, would you please pass this information along to the appropriate persons?
I look forward to building these connections,
TonyD note: including a reference to CITRT.org is probabaly a good idea, too.
