Just some very quick thoughts here, nearly a week after the end of MinistryTECH and the Spring 2008 Church IT Roundtable.
- As usual, hanging out with other Church IT People was a highlight. If we were to gather, with no real agenda (well, maybe food is an agenda), would the event still be winner? It just might be. An observation: Why are there so many people in Church IT who's names start with "J?" Jason (and why are there so many of just that name?!), Jeremie, Justin, Jeff, Jim, Josh, Jerry, John, JP, Jimmy, Jeremy)
- The MinistryTECH speakers were good, and I'm glad I was there to hear them. At the same time, there's a bit of an "I've heard most of this before" feeling -- these are people I already know, and I read their blogs, so it wasn't astonishing new insight -- it was more of a confirmation of what I'd heard before. That all sounds a lot more negative than I mean it to
- The MinistryTECH vendor area didn't do a thing for me. I respect, and like, the vendors, but there just wasn't anything there of interest that I hadn't seen many times before
- I had a very "interesting" hotel room. JL, I greatly appreciate your hard work to get us great prices. In this case, I think I got what I paid for. Not a complaint. Actually, now I've got a story :-)
- I'm sorry I missed the church tours on Wednesday. The bit of LifeChurch I got to see Friday evening, plus of course the events at Henderson Hills and Crossings, left me wanting to see more
- The "low key" roundtable format was nice
- Three straight days of 9-5 events is tiring!
- Wichita, and OKC, and all points in between, are incredibly flat!
- Despite 4+ days in the area, I still didn't really see OKC (nor Wichita)
- The one-on-one time I got to spend with three of you (you know who you were) were highlights of the trip that won't soon be forgotten!
The MinistryTECH blog now has a link to the error messages video they played.

Tony, it was great meeting you and getting to pick your brain. Your blog and your ministry have been a great asset to the IT Ministry of HHBC. Thanks for all you do!

Do you have photos of this awesome hotel room? I never made it down there to see for myself.

Thanks Jeff. Good meeting you face-to-face, as well.

It was a great time as always. I came back to a PILE of work so I haven't had a chance yet to post my thoughts, but I'll do that soon. Thanks for all you do to make this un-group successful.
