Are you in search of an alternative, and legal, way to get your digital music? (aren't we all) One of our staff members, Steve, came across mp3fiesta.com. A little quirky, some bad translation of text, but amazing prices. Too good to be true?
Steve is the kind of guy to do the research. He's not someone to violate copyright, but he wanted to go further. He called the FBI to ask about this overseas firm. I don't have the full story (had a choice of taking notes or eating -- guess when won?), but it's something like this. FBI-guy told Steve, don't worry about an organization being in Russia (or wherever), that doesn't make them any less legitimate. Don't worry about the low prices, they don't have the overhead. And, finally, "don't worry about us (FBI) coming after you -- YOU haven't done anything wrong, even if they have, and it doesn't look like they have." Now, of course, RIAA may be different, so proceed at your own risk, but at first look, it's a great way to save some money.
Very early this morning (or late last night, depending on your perspective), Jason did a post called "Do The Shuffle." I know he did, because I still have the bloglines capture from the RSS feed:
But...when I went to respond, what's this? It's gone! OK, I'll respond anyway...
hmmm... no Pink Floyd, no REO Speedwagon, no Kansas, Styx, Uriah Heep... And technically not even 'yes.' Oh well...
