Phill Martin sent me an interestng report today and gave me permission to post an excerpt. Seems a local NACBA chapter did just some of what's been discussed recently -- invited their IT people to participate in the meeting. Here's the clip from the report:
Topic:
I.T. Information Technologies
Topic Description:
I.T. Communication-How do we facilitate an on-going relationship between our I.T. Techs. what can we do to support the Sacramento Chapter churches with I.T.? Staffing vs. Out-sourcing What if my I.T. guy dies? Purchase vs. Lease PC vs. MacNews from your chapter:
This meeting was awesome. Each BA brought their I.T. person to the meeting. Great conversation and the start of communication between churches. Susan from Oak Hills Church created a Yahoo Group called NACBAIT to help start the dialogue. The I.T. group is very excited.
General Comments:
This team rocks!
So...do you think your Business Administrator would encourage an "invite your IT person" meeting?
Yes, I would certainly invite myself to the meeting and then I think I would say yes and go ;-).

I love Susan's name for the group. We all love acronyms, but I especially love them when they sound cool when you pronounce them.

I'm presenting to our local chapter in June...and I will be encouraging all of the administrators to bring their IT folks.

"Staffing versus outsourcing what if my IT guy dies?"
What is different about the IT guy than the Accounting guy or the Executive Assistant guy or the Worship guy or the Sr. Pastor guy or the Executive Pastor guy or the... well I could go on...
P.S. I'm with Kevin. :)
