Tuesday afternoon, October 2, 2007, was the "pre-event" for the Fall Church IT Roundtable at Church of the Resurrection. Clif and his team raised the bar. They really knocked this one out of the park. Clif credits Amy Facemire with all the brilliance behind the organization.
Driving in to the official COR address on Roe Ave, there's a nice little sign in front of the appropriate building:
Once in the building, people were friendly, but even when there weren't people around, it was quite clear where to go:
At the end of the hall was the registration table. A bunch of people showed up at the same time, but processing was nearly instant. Very well organized. Each attendee received a great package, that again, was nicely put together.
As you might expect, the package had everything we might need.
First in the packet was a name badge. Clif (or Amy) resolved the problem of badges that flip over -- the info was the same on both sides!
Next up was a simple little card with a title of "Resurrection Prayer Ministry." I figured this was just info about the prayer ministry. Nope. Opening it up revealed some of the preparation that happened behind the scenes before this event. What a great personal touch.
IT guys, eating together, coffee all day. That creates a problem. The package included part of the solution.
Other items in the package included an agenda, an overview of COR's IT infrastructure, quick bio info for the COR IT team, a facility information sheet, a booklet for COR's Leadership Institute, plans for the breakout rooms, a two sided document on what is a Roundtable and the rules for this (and most) roundtables, a multi-page COR org chart, a "visit KC" magazine, and even directions from the church to the restaurants for some of the outside events. WOW.
