10 Our current ChMS is too expensive
9 We have to pay, for training, on an “easy to use” product? And training is required?!
8 We don’t like the technology behind the product, after all, we’re a {Mac, PC, Linux, Browser-only, whatever} church
7 We can’t get any of our staff to use the ChMS we have today [Or we can't get that department to use the ChMS]
6a We absolutely must have full control over our data – we can't stand having it “in the cloud”
-or-
6b We don’t want to have to do IT stuff, the only way is to have everything “in the cloud”
-or-
5b We’re too large for this product
4 The ChMS wasn’t designed for a church like ours
3 The support guys don’t understand the way our church works
2 We put data in, but we can’t get it back out
1 We hate our current ChMS (doesn’t matter which one it is), so we have to replace it {with anything else}
What's on your list for why you want to replace your ChMS?
How about 10 reasons why the ChMS you hate is still around?

OK, let's think about that. your input would be appreciated. My first shot at it:
10. Somebody must be making enough money to keep on selling it
9. Somebody keeps on buying it
8. The pain of leaving one ChMS is too great to move to another
7. What if the new one isn't better?
6. What if the new one is worse?
5. The magazine reports indicate they're all the same
4. The magazine reports indicate they're all great!
3. These are all Christians, so they must be honest and helpful
2. "following the crowd" If other people keep using it, then it must be OK, right? I must me the one who doesn't get it.
1. Tens of thousands of churches really don't know that there might be something better. So, they are "satisfied" with what they have.

ah, the way I wrote my question led you in a different direction. I was thinking of "10 reasons your church is using the chms you hate" and you took it to mean why the company is still around. I like both lists! I like your questions for the latter
